Marvel Comics RP

I've had this idea for an RP set in the Marvel Universe floating around my head for the longest time. It would take a slightly more realistic approach to some of the abilities of different characters, but only a little. Think of Batman Begins.

As for the story it would take places in the years 2011 to 2012 or 2013. The world has changed as war has broken out between the Human population and the Mutant population due to the disappearance of Professor Charles Xavier, assumed dead, and his rival Magneto's growing influence over mutants. Without Xavier to lead the X-Men and slow down Magneto's plans to start a war many mutants would flock to Magneto's side. Including some of the X-Men and students from the institute. The X-Men would soon be defeated by Magneto, many joining him in his fight while others aided the humans or opted to stay out of the war until it ended.

Around the world humans and their superhuman allies would begin to launch insurgencies against Magneto and his forces with the remnants of armies weren't defeated completely by Magneto. Hero teams and organizations such as the Avengers, minus Thor and Bruce Banner, The Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the remaining X-Men now led by Cyclops and Emma Frost would continue to wage war against Magneto and his Brother Of Mutants.

A select group of pro-human metahumans that included Spiderman, Captain America, and Storm would withdraw from the war in order to find missing mutants and humans who could help to turn the tide of the war in their favor and help to defeat Magneto once and for all. Magneto knows of these potential game changers as well and sends out his own group of mutants out to find them to either turn them to his side or kill them if they can not be reasoned with.

Among these "game changers" is Dr. Doom, secretly plotting to take Magneto's place if the humans are defeated. During the war Doom had gathered different artifacts from Egypt and from museums around the world in order to bring to life an ancient and powerful being known as The First One. Little did Doom know that his actions were likely going to bring and an end to the war.

And to Earth.
